Role Overview
Lead the electrical engineering strategy and team execution for high-voltage DC/AC power distribution, safety systems, and power conversion integration within the BESS plant.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or Renewable Energy Systems.
- Experience Duration: 8 to 12 years of electrical engineering experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.
- Industry Background: Direct experience with multi-megawatt systems, utility-scale inverters, solar PV plants, or containerized BESS infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Department Leadership: Guide electrical prototype engineers; manage project timelines, budgets, and hardware laboratory resources.
- Architecture & Design: Approve high-voltage/low-voltage electrical schematics, busbar layouts, and distribution topologies.
- PCS Integration: Oversee the electrical interfacing between battery racks, Power Conversion Systems (PCS), and bi-directional inverters.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict electrical safety protocols, implementing robust grounding, surge protection, and arc-flash mitigation hardware.
- Testing & Sign-off: Lead commissioning and high-voltage testing phases, including insulation resistance, dielectric withstand, and thermal rise under peak current loads.
Technical Skills
- ECAD Tools: Engineering oversight using AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, or EPLAN.
- Power Systems: Deep expertise in DC-DC converters, heavy-duty switchgear, contactors, fuses, and transformer operations.
- Lab Equipment: Proficiency with industrial power analysers, high-voltage megohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Standards: Strict adherence to National Electrical Code (NEC), UL 1973, UL 9540, and IEEE 1547.
